I bought a Lenovo laptop on last year. It serve me quite well and I'm satisfied with it.
Recently I felt my laptop starts lagging and it took time to even open a start button. Speaker makes noises when webcam-ing with others. Everything was ok. I just don't like it to be lag. So I thought I send it to service.
I went to the office at OPUS IT Service Pte Ltd for services. I waited there for 2 hours. Is fine. No big deal. I can wait. Until my turn, I told them what is my problem and they are very friendly in handling my matter. Receive it and let me sign a few documents.
And the problem comes. They need me to sign an agreement that they might need to reset it to factory setting if they need to.
Staff : I need you to sign this so that you are agree to reset the laptop when it needs to.
Me : Ok. *before signing* But will you inform me 1st before reset everything because I have no back up. And will I know what is the problem with my laptop?
Staff : Yes. The engineering will call or email you to explain about the problem and when it needs to, they will ask you 1st before formatting the whole laptop.
Me : Ok. That's fine if you inform 1st.
They called me last Friday to collect my laptop and I went to the office today.
Again I waited for more than an hour just to collect my laptop. And found out that they reset my laptop to factory settings.
I WAS SHOCK. VERY SHOCK.
I ask them why did they reset my laptop without asking and where are all my data!!
The staff check for me and said I had signed the agreement that I agree to format.
I said NO! I DID SIGN THE PAPER BUT I ASK IF YOU WILL INFORM ME BEFORE RESETTING THE WHOLE DAMM THING!
How would you feel if your laptop got reformat without asking your customer?!
Do you think it is right to do that??
We always save so many important photos, document, and any other things in it. It mean so much to everyone of us and you just reformat . every .single. thing?!
I was super angry with it and start speaking louder and louder toward the staff. They told me that they contacted me twice through my mobile but unfortunately no answer.
DAMM I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY PHONE CALL FROM YOU. YOU LIER!
And never bother to email me. If you can't contact me through phone, why you don't email me? So what's the point of asking email address from me when you don't even bother to email me??
Is your 1st time servicing laptop?! You don't even know how our data is so important to people?!
You damm of bullshit. I demand for all my data to be restored and they keep on insisting cannot be restore and I signed the damm agreement.
OK. I signed that agreement. True. In physical proof, I was in disadvantaged. But I ask for confirmation in contacting me before doing anything to my laptop 1st and sign it.
AND YOUR DAMM STAFF ANSWER ME YES.
SO IS YOUR STAFF GIVING ME WRONG INFORMATION ABOUT THIS MATTER?
SHOULD I NOT TRUST YOUR STAFF AND NOT SIGN IT?
Is this how you teach your staff to talk whatever they want and make us, customer out there to believe it?
This is the trust that you build with your customer? I get it now. Shouldn't entrust your staff with my laptop. Shouldn't entrust with Lenovo. At all.
I think so too now. This is how they push their blame to their customer and not settling it professionally.
LENOVO YOU HAVE FAIL TO TRAIN YOUR STAFF PROPERLY.
And Lenovo user out there, never trust what information they gave you and never never sign anything that causes your important data gone.
A girl talk to me when I was making noises there and she told me she has the same issue as me but she was lucky because she created 2 account which did not affect her data. She was lucky.
SEE? NOT TRYING HARD TO REACH OUT YOUR CUSTOMER AND DECIDE TO REFORMAT EVERYTHING?

Seriously I never got so pissed off and become a mad women shouting and scolding toward people. But this time I pissed. Frustrated. Feel so heart breaking when I never get my data back. All my precious memories photos, all my documents I have done so far, everything just gone...
Just because you cannot reach me, you assume I was ok with it.
I don't mind reformatting if it needs to. Contact me and I still have a choice. I don't mind waiting for the services.

If there is anybody ask me about buying or changing new laptop, I will always say
NEVER CHOOSE LENOVO BECAUSE THEIR SERVICE IS BEYOND SUCKS.
